FIX THE CHAT RESTRICTIONS! Ease up on the filters for chatting with your team.
Instead of ‘picture’ or ‘pics’, you can use ‘Photo’: it works!🙂
Cathy, a lot of words related to pictures are banned (presumably “cam” is too because it can take “pics”, “pictures” etc...). I think they ban these words because they don’t want people chatting “send me a picture” etc...
(I think they are trying to protect more vulnerable players like children from predators. Using other words as suggested by TeamYCHEATpr is a small price to pay for this.)
PS. A 10 word puzzle with 2 bonus words should score 12 unless there is a separate bonus word with coins and/or those pesky bees 🐝 were involved 🤔
Randy, to change your name on these comments, try the following:
Access the chat forums thru the website:
Then “sign in”
Then tap “settings” (under your name)
Then change the name used
their scoring is really messed up. had same letter number wheel, 6, same 4 letter min, same 10 word puzzle with 2 bonus words. Given 34 stars one time and 38 stars on another. rechecked, rechecked math.
why are they putting my full name? that's not right!,,
About restrictions. not as bad now, but still won't even let me put my dog breed in the chat...Bischon. Not even close to the other B word. Ridiculous!
Hi Cathy: No idea why it won’t allow “Cam” or “picture” but have had the same problem. try “illustration” or “image” to get your message across.

Gilee, wrong forum for this, but here’s your answer. Tap on your team shield on the home page, and then on the “My team” tab to see all the players on your team. The Leader is identified as such with a small crown under their name.
Only the Leader can “boot” people from the team, so, you have to discuss that with them.
I’m on a team where many never participate. How do we find out who our leader is and how do we remove non players to allow new joiners?
CS, wrong forum for this but let me help guide you if I can. First, without the initial leader, the team is essentially dead since the team began with the leader. So, start a new team with the same name if you like (same names are allowed for teams). However, you can’t be on two teams at once, so whoever decides to be the new leader will have to leave the team first.
Please search “Select team” for a way to do this for a leaderless (in spirit) team.
In your case because the leader is actually not there, I would go to the added step of first creating a forum topic “temporary [whatever your team name is]” or whatever you want to call it so your players can at least communicate thru the forum if once they leave your old team if they have a problem.
Once the new leader sets up the team, the other team members ask to join the new team and leave their old team.
If the old leader doesn’t come back, I assume the old team will remain a team of 1.
Our team had our team lead “disappear” - hasn’t been on line for weeks and we miss him/her.
We’d also like to know if ok, or if a phone compatibility issue or an illness etc.
At first we thought maybe vacation. When the lead didn’t show up for over eight weeks, I logged a question to Support to ask if they were able to contact the team lead or if we could and was told that they could not contact anyone.
I was told essentially our only option was to create a new team. For those that have been on the team for a long time, they’d like to keep the same name. I am a newer team member, and Like one of the long-standing players to be the new team lead. However it sounds like There isn’t a way to change who the team lead is by Support. We can’t therefore remove folks from the team for those that joined weeks ago have never played or given helps from the roster.
Also if we created a new team name and shared what we thought we were going to call it and then found out as we tried to create it that for whatever reason we could not, no idea how them to notify the team members on the team name to join.
It does put us at a disadvantage when playing in the tournaments since other teams are able to remove those that join but then apparently decided the game wasn’t for them. So therefore I’d like the ability to be able to opt in to be able to be emailed or contacted via the app somehow for others to check up on me And the ability to be able to request a team lead change if it’s been over two months since they played if we aren’t able to contact them without having to create a new team.

Yes. Mostly, as long as you type things in separate “speech bubbles” you can get through things like “call me”.
Peggy, we’re still able to communicate general geographic places on our team and about other things of interest, too. It comes down to how you word things. I am actually surprised what I am allowed to chat about now compared to before.

I agree with no addresses, phone numbers... but I did like the general geographic areas. Previously I saw that my team had players from Ireland, England and Germany, as well as many different states in the USA. It was nice commenting about ancestry, areas, weather, etc. I miss that.
In my opinion, I think this forum has mostly satisfied its goal. The point of this particular forum was not to remove chat restrictions but to ease them. As Pcutx points out, the restrictions are there for a reason.
If you just started playing this game from late July 2020 onward, you missed a period of time where the chat restrictions were becoming unbearable. Before the asterisks were used, the entire chat would be discarded. Almost nothing could get through it seemed. That’s when this forum was created. At least now, one can at least convey ideas and chat even if a common word gets the asterisks treatment now and then. So, to me, the original problem of essentially being unable to chat has mostly been fixed.
However, there are still occasions when an entire chat message gets rejected. The chat restrictions really don’t seem to like big numbers or ranges of numbers likely interpreting them as phone numbers.
So, if your chat has lots of numbers or a range of numbers in it using a “-“ symbol (like when discussing scores), I would COPY the chat to memory before sending it. Then you can paste the text and tinker with it if it gets completely rejected.
(As a recent example, I tried to give a range: “100-1000”. Bad choice because it looks just like a phone number, and the entire chat was rejected. Changing it to “100-1k” worked, though.)
People are still going to be annoyed when certain phrases or words aren’t allowed, but this is a heck of a lot better than it used to be!
