Cheating on Wordscape
Cheating on Wordscape
Does cheating occur in Wordscapes? What exactly is cheating in Wordscapes? You are allowed hints including rockets, bullseyes, and bees for letters. Some of these are free, but as has been pointed out by WiseOwls Team Leader, you can also buy these and use them without limit. So, someone who rushes through a bunch of puzzles to jump ahead and win a tournament by using hints alone, is that cheating?
Technically no because it is within the rules of the game. But to anyone who has played a tournament only using hints after struggling minutes on a word or not using any hints at all, that would definitely feel like cheating. Clearly, as James points out, getting words from a website (like the answers to a mid term exam at school) is cheating.
But what does someone win by cheating or even using tons of hints (either free or bought)--you get points for an imaginary crown that eventually disappears and 1000 points (the equivalent of 10 hints)! The latter only makes sense if you used less than 10 hints the whole tournament. Is there much satisfaction in “winning” by letting hints fill in the words or by becoming a data entry clerk and copying words from a list?
For those of us who play the game because we like solving word puzzles, because we like to learn new words, and because we like to challenge ourselves, winning is beating our last high score. We are really just playing against ourselves. If we play against an opponent, we like to think they are also playing by the same rules. I have lost close tournaments and have won close tournaments--the ones I have lost feel horrible and the ones I have won feel exhilarating, but only because I know my opponents were playing by the same rules. Our scores would bounce back and forth, or in the case of my closest loss which occurred on the very last puzzle, it was an inevitable loss because the opponent was just clearly a better player able to catch my score. I respect that.
To lose in the last minute to someone who suddenly dumps 100’s of points in a few minutes would really feel like a robbed victory. I would try to take it in stride and take some solace in the fact that the opponent clearly knew they couldn’t win one on one. But what did that player “win”--a somewhat hollow victory, or a bought victory, that’s all. There will be people who have to win at all costs no matter what--just be glad you’re not that person because that’s when this game stops being fun.
There is a website that has all the answers for wordscapes
Thanks WizeOwlz Team Leader! Just the explanation I was hoping to read somewhere across all the forums not just on here!

I do not believe there is Cheating on Wordscape. Wordscape is a business and they want to sell coins, but they also provide many other ways to earn them for FREE Earn them by playing, by Request Help in Tournaments, by watching videos, by having friends join, and several other ways. I, personally, get Help in Tournaments and buy $24.99 package every other week as part of my entertainment budget. When someone scores an amazing number of points to bypass me, which has happened, they either "scored" a big find in the OFFERS Wordscape puts out, or they were desperate to win so they bought giant packages from Wordscape. Remember Wordscape is a business. They give you ways of getting FREE points or you can buy them. Hope this explains what anyone may think is CHEATING!
